SOUTH TYROL'S NUMBER 1 SKI MOUNTAIN

Kronplatz

The Kronplatz region stretches from the west of the Puster Valley to the Antholz, Gsies and Gadertal valleys. The center of the area is the medieval city of Bruneck. Located between the main Alpine ridge and the famous Dolomites, the 2,275 meter high Kronplatz is also the number 1 ski mountain in South Tyrol. The relatively gently sloping mountain offers 119 km of slopes and 32 very well connected lifts on its wide, almost treeless slopes. There are long valley runs as well as the so-called Black Five, the five black slopes on Plan de Corones, which even experts require concentration. With the Piculin gondola lift, Plan de Corones has been connected to the Sellaronda since 2007, and the (black) slope of the same name leads back again. Snowboarders and freestylers also get their money's worth: the Snowpark Kronplatz offers Easy Line, Medium Line.

Wildberg Ansitz campsite

The Steinkasserer family has been running one of the most beautiful winter campsites in South Tyrol since 1964 and has gradually expanded it into a spacious complex. The new sanitary building with spacious washrooms and shower cubicles, a separate children's washroom, baby bathtub and family showers was completed in 2019. The facility below a wooded mountain slope offers space for 100 mobile homes on a total of 1.5 hectares, 85 of which have gas connections. Every pitch has fresh water and waste water connections, the whole pitch has WiFi. There is also a large playground, a dog shower, sports facilities, a drying room for ski equipment, a newly equipped scullery, washing machines and several saunas. It is three kilometers to the old town of Bruneck. The center of St. Lorenzen with restaurants and a supermarket can be reached in a few minutes on foot. The transfer to the ski area on the Plan de Corones is free of charge from the campsite.

Camping site Toblacher See

It's not cheap, but it is definitely one of the most beautifully located and best pitches in South Tyrol. The campsite Toblacher See is located at an altitude of 1,259 meters in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Dolomites. The total of 2.5 hectares of space for up to 125 cars is terraced, which ensures privacy - and a view of the wonderful lake and the surrounding mountains. The chic wash house has all the necessary sanitary facilities, washing machines and dryers, a sauna and a dog shower. You can also rent a private bathroom. The plots have all the necessary connections, but WiFi is only available on part of the site. Toblach is a little over two kilometers away, but the pitch also has a good restaurant. A cross-country ski run leads right past the parking space, and a free bus goes to the ski area. There is also a free shuttle service to the small family ski area "Rienz" in Toblach.

The Caravan Park Sexten is also spectacular, in front of the rocky backdrop of the mountain sundial in the Sexten Dolomites at 1,520 meters. The campsite has a total of three sanitary facilities and all the necessary connections. You can choose from different types of pitches. There are wellness treatments as well as indoor and outdoor pools with outdoor saunas. Plus it's a good restaurant. The closest ski lifts of the 3 Zinnen ski area are 1.6 km from the campsite and can be reached with the free ski bus. The bus stop is in front of the campsite. For experienced skiers, there is an alternative ski slope behind the campsite that leads directly to the lifts.

Alpe di Siusi ski area

This family ski area comprises 175 kilometers of slopes for every taste and 80 mountain railways. Thanks to the vastness of the area, waiting times are usually short. The adventure slopes from speed traps to timing systems are a special attraction. Winter sports enthusiasts can also go on day ski tours: the Alpe di Siusi Ronda and the Alpe di Siusi-Val Gardena Ronda lead in several stages through the ski area - including a view of the nearby Dolomites peaks. If you want, you can also go on the Sellaronda: the one-day tour for skiers and snowboarders is 26 kilometers long and circles the Sella Group. The Seiser Alm snow park for freestyle fans is Italy's best snow park and offers variety for beginners and professionals over 1.5 kilometers.
