The junction system with a network length of 738 kilometers offers cyclists more flexibility for individual route planning. At each junction there is an overview map showing the next junction. Desired goals can be achieved in different ways. The themed routes, between 30 and 70 kilometers long, offer many opportunities for rallies and are signposted in both directions. In addition, there is the updated 164-kilometer Ammerland route.
For an intense experience of the rhododendrons' bloom from the end of April to the beginning of June, there is literally no way around the almost 47 kilometer long rhododendron route. The circuit connects the three probably most beautiful rhododendron parks in Germany. The large-flowered plants have been cultivated in Ammerland for over 200 years. One of the most popular routes in Ammerland for years is the almost 39 kilometer long themed route "Kirchwege and Zwischenahner Meer". The circuit leads through all facets of the Ammerland landscape and includes three of the most beautiful church paths away from any traffic. The shortest bike tour is the "Aueweg", which is around 30 kilometers long. Half of the route is on the car-free small train path. The way back is on paved roads with little traffic. The tour is particularly suitable for families with children. Or how about the 50-kilometer tour through the Aper Fehn area, which is an ideal route for lovers of the Ammerland pastures and the wide fen landscape?
In the Ammerland, hiking has now also established itself as a way of experiencing the park landscape. Ten circuits have now been awarded. All information about hiking is also available at www.ammerland-touristik.de. The hiking tours can also be loaded as GPS tracks.
