In introducing all the members of the FEFI network, we must not forget Brit Stops, one of FEFI's oldest members. Brit Stops is the brainchild of a family who share a common love for camping and have taken it upon themselves to spread the van life culture in the United Kingdom. Just a few years ago, Tom took over the business from his parents, and since then, Brit Stops has experienced exciting times. It's the perfect timing to speak with the owners and showcase the company.
Once you've fallen in love with the spirit of France Passion and the Formule Invitations, you'll always remain a fan. That's exactly what happened to Mandy and Steve many years ago as they traveled through France. Their son Tom was still a young child, but like his parents, he fell in love with camping and the overnight accommodations that only France Passion can offer. The family decided to bring the concept to Great Britain, making them one of the oldest companies in the FEFI network. As Tom grew older, he began working part-time alongside his studies, helping with proofreading texts and editorial work.
Mandy and Steve have since stepped back from the business and are enjoying their well-deserved retirement. Tom now leads the company, having gained 6 years of experience within the company. He found the perfect partner for collaboration with the American provider Harvest Hosts, and Brit Stops is now integrated into Harvest Hosts. Tom is still involved in the business development and serves as the General Manager for the British market.
With the app and website, users are well-prepared for their adventures in Great Britain, finding camping sites from Cornwall to the Northern Coast 500 (NC 500) in Scotland. Users purchase an online membership, which is valid for exactly one year from the date of purchase. With this membership, the many pitches across the United Kingdom can be booked. Since pubs are an important part of British culture, they also play a significant role in Brit Stops, with many pub owners offering their pitches for campers and motorhomes. But Brit Stops doesn't just focus on pubs; it offers a variety of accommodations, such as a pitch right next to a skydiving school, where you can watch brave skydivers while enjoying your morning coffee.
Camping and caravanning have always been hobbies passed down from generation to generation. Parents travel with their children, who eventually become caravaning enthusiasts themselves. Brit Stops is a great example of how this passion can also be passed down to the next generation in a business context. After speaking with Tom, we are confident that Brit Stops will continue to grow, providing wonderful experiences for campers in the United Kingdom!
