On the approximately ten kilometer long Traumpfad "Wolfsdelle" you can enjoy both the view of the Rhine Valley and the heights of the Hunsrück and Taunus. The start and end point of the circular route is the old town hall in the historic center of Rhens. From there it goes up to the Rhine plateau with a detour to the Königsstuhl, the stone image of a huge throne. The path winds uphill over a meadow path and narrow serpentines to another vantage point. Finally you walk through the hollow path "Wolfsdelle" down to the lower Mühlental and along the Mühlenbach back to the starting point.
With the Rheinsteig and the Rheinburgenweg, two long-distance hiking trails also lead through the region. For a day tour, stage 7 of the Rheinburgenweg is ideal, which leads for around 13 kilometers from Rhens to Koblenz. You leave the historical town center of Rhens through the Viehor and follow a winding path to the Schamberg, where you have a wide view of the Marksburg castle. A few kilometers further up through beautiful forests, a detour to the Roman Temple of Mercury is worthwhile. Another cultural and historical highlight awaits hikers soon: the neo-Gothic Stolzenfels Castle, which can be considered the epitome of Rhine romanticism. Anyone who would like to take a look inside the magnificent palace rooms can join a guided tour. From there you hike up and down to a former Keltenwall and on to the stage destination Koblenz. Here you can comfortably return to Rhens by public transport.
