With the digital rearview mirror from Alpine, you can virtually see through the closed rear wall, which is common in most motorhomes, campervans, and delivery vans due to their construction. Rear windows blocked by furniture or other items are no longer a problem. This is made possible by the high-resolution 12" mirror monitor in the driver's cabin, connected to a camera at the rear of the vehicle. The HD camera provides a field of view that is even larger than that of a conventional rearview mirror in a car. This reduces blind spots and makes driving, especially overtaking, much safer and more comfortable. Additionally, the typically elevated camera position offers an extra advantage in rear visibility.
The camera of the digital rearview mirror features the latest HDR technology, which provides a detailed and glare-free video image even in challenging and rapidly changing lighting conditions.
The Alpine Freeview comes standard with a 6-meter connection cable for the HDR camera, which can be extended by an additional 10 meters if needed.
The recommended retail price for the Alpine DME-R1200, which includes the mirror monitor, camera, and 6-meter connection cable, is 499 euros. Depending on the base vehicle into which the digital rearview mirror will be installed, an appropriate mount is required.
With the KTX-DME-DUC rear-view mirror bracket, the DME-R1200 digital rear-view mirror can be installed in the following vehicles:
Installation is also possible with an existing "REMIfront" or with "Dometic" windscreen blinds. The RRP is 109 euros.
Other vehicle-specific holders and a universal holder will also be available soon.
