Benimar brings Spanish motorhomes to Germany

By Michael Kirchberger, cen

Benimar has been building leisure vehicles since 1974. The brand started with caravans, today there is a full range of motorhomes. In the corona year, the Spanish market leader is also entering a strong market with us. The Spaniards are showing their portfolio in Germany for the first time at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf.

Premiere at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. As the market leader, Benimar builds twice as many travel mopbiles as the runner-up. A total of 4,000 motorhomes and 1,000 mobile homes are being built in the recently renovated plant in Peniscola, close to the coast and about halfway between Barcelona and Valencia. Our headquarters are in Sprendlingen near Eura-Mobil. Like the German motorhome manufacturer, Benimar belongs to the French Trigano Group.

Almost 40 models in the
Benimar portfolio offer a full range. The range includes integrated and semi-integrated mobiles, expanded box vans and alcove vehicles, a total of almost 40 different models. The Benivan, which uses the Fiat Ducato, offers nine floor plans as a converted panel van. Their price ranges from 42,900 to 50,200 euros. Sport is the name of the four alcove layouts, which, depending on the model, roll on a Ducato or a Ford Transit chassis. They cost between 49,600 to 51,800 euros. The two partially integrated series are based on the Transit as a Tesoro (48,600 to 53,400 euros) and as a higher-quality Mileo (53,800 to 55,700 euros) on the Ducato. The flagship is the seriesAmphytron , the four layouts of which cost around 65,000 euros each, the basic vehicle here is again the Ducato.

The floor plans of the different series are naturally very similar, but surprise with unusual solutions. For example, some of the semi-integrated models have a fold-down bed in the front living area in addition to the rear bed with single or double beds. Others only have this on board, but use the vacated stern for a large washroom. The furnishing style should convey the Iberian way of life. The furniture is characterized by hard color contrasts, dark decors set the counterpoint to glossy white flaps and doors.

Good equipment standard
The equipment is not complete, but extensive. An electrically extending step, for example, is standard in the box vans, as is the air conditioning in the driver's cab in all Benimar motorhomes. There are enough LED lights in the living room and USB sockets, only extras such as a satellite TV system or an awning need to be paid extra. The
manufacturer has given the larger models the larger fuel tank, which is otherwise subject to a surcharge and holds 90 instead of the modest 70 liters.

Extremely frost-proof
It is surprising that the Spanish brand has not only been successful in its own country, but above all in Scandinavia. For this reason, the mobiles are extremely suitable for winter. Heated tanks, for example, which are rarely used in their home country, are available as a package in the “Northern Package” ; the insulation is generally generous. The roof has a 5.6 centimeter thick
sandwich construction made of aluminum sheet and XPS display, the walls are 4.2 centimeters thick and the floor is even 6.5 centimeters thick. This makes the motorhomes from the Iberian Peninsula frost-proof together with a hot water heater.

The German market attracts with increasing sales
The way to Germany is owed to the prospering market in this country. With 40 percent of European sales and a steadily increasing number of registrations, it is extremely attractive for other EU manufacturers. So far, Benimar has not used this sales opportunity due to the capacity limit in production. The expansion of production to higher capacity now makes this step possible. Sold the
campers of the Spaniards largely on the Trigano sales network of Eura-Mobil, Karmann and Forster. The aim is to sell 1000 within twelve months. Benimar is
the group's seventh provider alongside the three Trigano-Haus brands, alongside Challenger, Mobilvetta and Roller Team. (ampnet / deg)
