Carthago 2021

Upgrade and new base vehicle

Presentation of Carthago 2021

Like the entire motorhome industry, the Carthago premium brand is also winning in times of Corona. Business is going well. At the Caravan Salon at the beginning of September, the Swabians will be showing the revised C-Compactline and C-Tourer series as partially and fully integrated mobile homes. In addition, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter joins the model range, in which only the Fiat Ducato has so far been used as the base vehicle. The prices of the 6.60 to 7.40 meter long mobiles start at around 72,000 euros.

C-Compact Line

As is so often the case with a motorhome, the eye also eats. The design of the slim Compactline is far from showing its age, but the series is getting redesigned front and rear walls. Particularly noticeable are the full LED headlights, which, in addition to the outstanding view to the front, turn night into day in the dark. They can be installed in the integrated vehicles on request. The inner values have also gained, the living rooms with new furniture architecture in the seating area as well as the revised combination bathrooms offer more freedom of movement and better ergonomics. Equipment details such as a second television in the bedroom, which were previously reserved for the upper class of the Carthago Liner, are now also available in the brand's entry-level vehicles.

C-Tourer

With the C-Tourer there will be a choice in the future. Both the integrated and the partially integrated models roll on request on the Sprinter instead of the Fiat Ducato. In both cases, only the power end is used, under the rear the tried and tested low-frame chassis from Al-Ko ensures good driving characteristics and a comfortable entry height. It also enables the storage space-saving double floor technology. The variety has grown as a result, the C-Tourer series now has 25 different versions.

Many of the Compactline and C-Tourers have a gross vehicle weight below the 3.5 tonne limit. If there is not too much additional equipment on board (the additional weight of which is not included in the technical information, but is taken into account by the police), there is still a reasonable load left over. For more difficult cases, Carthago can load the Sprinter up to 4.5 tonnes or, in the case of the Liner motorhomes, use the Iceco Daily, which now offers more comfort and safety with new driver assistance packages. On request, there is a practical coffee machine lift on board, which automatically disappears into the generous storage space of the kitchen when it is not in use.

The manufacturer based in Aulendorf near Ravensburg offers light alloy wheels with a new design for all Ducato-based motorhomes. In the kitchens, Dometic's 10 series refrigerators with opening stops on both sides replace the previous cold boxes. In addition, an oven with grill can be installed at a convenient height in the kitchen base cabinet if required. New upholstery combinations and a multitude of possible variations with textile leather as well as partial or full leather appointments round off the model renewal for the 2021 season. (ampnet / mk)
