VW California caddy

The start for micro-camping

The presale of the VW Caddy California has started. With variable living, sleeping and storage space, the popular high-roof bestseller can also be ordered as a mobile home for the first time. The crossover of compact van and camper is based on the equipment line of the Caddy Life and costs from 29,886.85 euros (19 percent VAT) with the 75 PS (55 kW) TDI engine.

The Caddy California is based on the latest Caddy generation and thus uses the technology and space-saving arrangement of the modular transverse matrix (MQB). The camper equipment includes a new fold-out bed with disc springs and a high-quality mattress, which should offer the same sleeping comfort as the beds of the big Bulli brothers T6.1 California and Grand California. In any case, with a
length of almost two meters and a width of 1.07 meters, it is quite generous for this class.

Panoramic roof optional

The Caddy California can optionally be ordered with a 1.4 square meter panorama roof including a blackout option. There is also a mini kitchen ex works for an extra charge, which can be pulled out of the rear. In addition to a gas cooker and an easy-to-clean work surface, this also offers a large pull-out storage box with an integrated cutlery drawer. Further detailed solutions are
the removable stowage pockets in the rear side windows, which also darken the window, or the ventilation grilles for the cab doors, with which you can get fresh air into the closed camper even when it rains.

The Caddy California is available with all assistance systems of the Caddy, including "Travel Assist" for partially automated driving over the entire speed range. In addition, a total of nineteen different assistance systems are available. (ampnet / fw)
