Healing pools and spas in Hesse

New powers from nature's treasure chest

A break in the health baths and spas in Hesse strengthens the immune system

(djd). Natural remedies hide in water, soil and air, balancing body and mind. The healing pools and spas in Hesse harvest these natural treasures from mineral and thermal sources deep below ground, in ancient moorlands and from the health-conditioning atmosphere. Even a short break can have a young fountain effect on the immune system. The historic villages with their well-kept green spaces reflect the rich history. The hot thermal sources in Wiesbaden were already known to the Romans and later made the state capital the world capital of the 19th century. Outstanding sources also shine in Bad Wildungen with Europe's largest spa park, in the Art Nouveau city of Bad Nauheim or in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe with its fairytale landscape gardens.

Freshly spiced air

Even the ancient Greeks knew that certain places promote health. This means that there is always a slight breeze in the conveniently located health-conditioned refrigerators. Fresh winds drop down the gentle hills of the central mountains and bring their invigorating effect to life in the highlands, Gersfeld in the Rhön, Königstein in the Taunus or Lindenfels in the Odenwald. "Anyone looking for peace and quiet is well kept in the smaller towns," advises Almut Boller, Managing Director of the Hessian Association of Healing Baths. "The hiking trails into the wooded surroundings just outside the front door of the hotels and pensions also start here. The larger course cities score points with a wider range of options. "

Bath in Moor and Forest

Where herbs, grasses, flowers and mosses work together over thousands of years, a powerful connection is created in moss, healing clay, clay or peat. When mixed with brine or mineral water, it becomes a pleasantly weightless bog bath. Natural halibut, mild stimulus climate and carbonated mineral water are, for example, the strengths of Bad Schwalbach am Taunus. Nature can be discovered in the spa park, on hiking trails, in the Nordic walking park and on the Kneipp footpath. Hessen's oldest Kneipp swimming pool, Bad Camberg, invites you to a stroll in the well-kept spa, in the old town and in the city forest, Taunus and Western Forest attract you over the mountains and valley. And Bad Karlshafen, the white baroque city on the northernmost peak of Hesse, impresses with a harbour in the middle of the city and is an ideal starting point for cycling and hiking tours through Weserbergland.
