(djd). One of the smallest but also one of the most beautiful wine regions in Germany - with impressive terrace wine mountains, baroque sights and excellent enjoyment moments - is located in Elbtal, Saxony. For more than 850 years, the winemakers have been growing their grapes in the stadiums and curling them into elegant, characterful drops. Already in August, the strong king, known as Saxony's "royalty of enjoyment" for its opulent lifestyle, was very associated with the Elbe Valley wine. On polite occasions, he should have drunk up to seven bottles of fine grape juice per day. He even raised vineyards like the "Golden Wagon" in Radebeul to the royal vineyard location.
Not even one per cent of German wine comes from the Elbe Valley winemakers. Saxon wine or sparkling wine is therefore a rarity, but it is worth discovering, because the vines benefit from the special local climate conditions: The Saxony Elbe Valley, located on the 51st latitude, is one of the sunniest regions in Germany and offers special conditions for wine-growing. The prevailing influences of the continental climate, warm, sunny days and cool nights as well as an extended ripening phase promote distinct fruit aromas in the grapes. They also retain their natural freshness until they reach late maturity. The "Cool Climate" wines in Saxony therefore impress with their aromatic elegance and fine yet characterful structure.
Anyone who wants to see for themselves the quality of the tannin or sector can do so in a stylish setting at Schloss Wackerbarth. Located in Radebeul, in the heart of Sächsischer Weinstraße, the winery impresses with a unique ensemble of baroque grounds, picturesque vineyards and modern manufacturing. During the shining time of the Dresden baroque in the 18th century, August Christoph Graf von Wackerbarth had a castle system built here as an age seat in the middle of the vineyards. Today, all wine lovers are invited to spend a sparkling day on the experience wine belt. You can walk through the vineyard and enjoy wine and linguistic palate to your liking. Anyone interested in the daily tours of the factory will experience how the Saxon wines in the wine cellar mature and why the sparkling creations of the Saxony are still being created today according to ancient French craftsmanship.
