Today, dreamlike lakes with harbors, marinas and holiday complexes have emerged from the former open-cast mines. Europe's largest artificial water world is growing here - with more than two dozen new lakes and navigable canals! And camping has long been a big topic for the region. This is shown, among other things, by the wide range that the campsites offer their guests: whether nudist camping at Lake Halbendorfer See, five-star camping at Lake Senftenberg, overnight stays in iconic GDR caravans and sleeping barrels at Lake Deulowitz or in tree houses at Lake Senftenberg .
The revised edition of the revised edition of the camping and mobile home map, available from April on the website of the Lausitzer Seenland tourism association, lists 38 camping, mobile home and caravan spaces. Due to the increased demand, the association has also added an overview of 18 free mobile home spaces without service and basic supplies to the camping card.
20 campsites with a range of services are presented in photos and brief descriptions. Pictograms illustrate the range of services. Most of the courses are located directly on the lake. The beach is only a few meters away on foot. The offer for owners of four-legged friends is large: 18 places are dog-friendly. Seven are even on a lake with a dog beach.
The campsite operators have used the lockdown to beautify their facilities, adapt them to the growing number of guests or to develop creative offers. For example, the five-star Familienpark campsite on Lake Senftenberger See, which, according to the ADAC camping portal Pincamp, is one of the most popular places in Germany and was awarded the camping.info award in 2021, is opening a newly designed Italian and Asian bistro. With the special "Much-too-short vacation", the campsite with its 165 tent and parking spaces and 200 holiday homes entices you to take a short midweek vacation. If you arrive on Monday or Tuesday, there is also a surprise package.
CampDeulo on Lake Deulowitz with 65 parking spaces has modernized its facility and set up an additional space for dog owners and their four-legged friends. The quiet campsite on the edge of the Lusatian Lakeland directly on the natural lake near Guben is particularly popular with cyclists who are on the Oder-Neisse cycle path. Highlights are modern wooden sleeping barrels and old "ossidoses", simple caravans with the promise to sleep "like in the old days".
The holiday and leisure park on Lake Geierswalder modernized the reception and barrier system and expanded its team. A special feature of the square is a cooled machine that a butcher shop regularly fills. The theme camping at Grünewalder Lauch also renovated the reception and created an additional workplace. The Hüttencamp Döbern expanded its facility by two parking spaces, electricity pillars were renewed and additional washing-up facilities were created. The base camp for water sports enthusiasts is the Marina Camping at Bärwalder See, Saxony's largest inland lake. The family complex with 36 places is only a few steps away from the Marina Klitten. Motor boats, sailing boats, SUP boards and kayaks can be rented here.
